- Augustine School seeks to form wise, virtuous young men and women who have learned to submit all things to the universal lordship of Christ, by offering an education to the glory of God that is biblically- based, gospel-centered, and classically informed.

- Just over 100 students are enrolled for the 2009-2010 shcool year at Augustine School.

- Augustine School currently offers Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grades.
Is there an option for those who work in the afternoon?
- The Afternoons at Augustine program is available five days a week from 2:30-5:30. The basic program includes homework time and playtime. Students may also enroll in optional fee-based fine arts options including ballet, harp, piano, and violin.
With the shorter day, is Augustine School really a homeschool co-op?
- No. We do have a shorter day for PreKindergarten through Second Grade, but we offer a complete education, and we have a limited amount of homework.
What are some of Augustine School’s goals and dreams? Where is Augustine School headed?
- Augustine School plans on adding grades until it offers Pre-Kindergarten through Twelfth Grades.
- Augustine School aspires to offer a first-rate high school humanities program, where students are immersed in the great books and ideas of western culture, and learn how to both appreciate and criticize those ideas from the standpoint of a Christian vision of reality.
- Augustine School’s greatest dream is to glorify God by offering a certain kind of education, an education that prepares the next generation of Christian leaders.
What is unique about Augustine School?
- Augustine School offers a classical education that emphasizes the centrality of the written and spoken word, the centrality of a “goal” in education-forming wise and virtuous young men and women, the centrality of the past, the centrality of the classical languages (Latin and Greek), and the centrality of rigorous thinking, speaking and writing.
- While Augustine School wants to link arms with the other educational institutions in west Tennessee, we believe our classical model, and our particular understanding of the relationship between the Gospel and the formation of young men and women is unique.

- Augustine School currently has an averaged student/teacher ration of 10:1 and an average class size of 12.
Besides tuition, what do Augustine School parents contribute to the mission of Augustine School?
- We have wonderful parents, many who gift the school financially above and beyond tuition and all Augustine School families (parents) also volunteer 30 hours a year as a family.
Is Augustine School only for brilliant children?
- No. While we are very proud of our students, we have found that virtually every student can thrive in the Christian and classical educational model. When you raise the bar, students do rise to the occasion!
Does Augustine School offer any provision for students of families of more limited financial means?
- Yes. Augustine School desires to offer admission to every eligible student, by aggressively funding a scholarship fund from which to offer need-based financial aid.
Why the name "Augustine"?
- Augustine (A.D. 354-430) is arguably the greatest theologian in the history of Christianity. A theologian and pastor, he articulated a thoroughly Christ-centered understanding of the life of the mind, and he fought valiantly for the truth against persons both within and outside the Church. He is an excellent role-model for the next generation of godly leaders.
